Nobody is more acutely aware than IT managers that IT networks cost money. The IT infrastructure of any business can be one of the most significant capital costs ‘on the balance sheet’ and faced with an investment of these proportions any IT manager will naturally want to maintain the network in perfect running order to minimise disruption to both individuals and the organisation at large.
While legacy networks present greater problems, the challenge facing more modern networks is that they should run effectively with minimum servicing – quite simply a dedicated in-house network engineer has become something of a luxury. Yet there is no doubt that every network needs to be looked after, serviced and maintained on a regular ‘housekeeping’ basis.
That is why many IT professionals are looking to ramsac to provide an extra ‘safe pair of hands’ not only to help support their own infrastructure, but to use ramsac’s market experience and wisdom to provide broader counsel and advice. It’s as simple as taking out a Network Visit Plan Contract to deliver the appropriate level of skill required to ensure the entire IT provision runs to optimum efficiency, be that freeing up internal IT management time for more commercial issues, or working together to manage and implement bigger projects.
Network Visit Plan is designed not only to support the IT manager in maintaining the IT network but also to anticipate and pre-empt any problems that may occur. As networks vary, we work carefully to identify the right consultant from our team to understand your network in depth and work as your permanent part-time dedicated network engineer, or alongside your in-house IT provision, to ensure the following:
After an initial system review and ‘kick-off’, in the majority of cases ramsac will schedule a network engineer to visit on a monthly basis. In the course of a normal day the engineer will conduct all necessary checks and fix any minor problems that may have arisen during the intervening period. Perhaps most importantly, they regularly review the general IT requirement with the IT manager and ensure the network fits with the longer term business IT strategy, identifying any potential future problems which need to be managed in advance.
Project Management to Improve ROI
I want to congratulate you on the great team of people you have working at ramsac. Everyone we’ve met or spoken to on the phone, has been polite, professional and a pleasure to deal with! Mike Farrell
