ramsac, a leading IT solutions consultancy, today announced it has launched a remote support service for mobile devices such as smart phones, blackberries and PDAs. ramsac mobile plus responds to the exponential growth in corporate usage of these devices, with analyst group IDC predicting that within four years more than 70% of the workforce will connect to corporate networks via mobile devices.
Explained, Robert May, Managing Director and founder of ramsac, “In the last few years, employees have demanded a more constant connection to their offices, and with most companies now using mobile devices to synchronise with the office – staff now expect 24/7access to their emails, calendars and contacts wherever it is they are working.”
The ramsac mobile plus service enables ramsac’s helpdesk consultants to establish (when authorised), a secure remote connection with its clients’ mobile devices. This link is then used to troubleshoot synchronising issues, set up new email accounts, demonstrate key features, update passwords, upgrade software, or configure mobile office preferences.
May continued, “We’ve been helping clients with their mobile devices for some time but now with ramsac mobile plus, our consultants get a view of the client’s mobile device on their screens, so they can either talk the client through making the changes themselves, or quickly make the changes on their behalf, perhaps while they are off in a meeting so that they are not inconvenienced at all.”
“With the immediate increases in productivity, and both time and cost savings, ramsac mobile plus is already proving incredibly popular. We believe that this extension to our wide range of outsourced IT solutions further enhances the level of support we can offer to businesses in the South East and is a perfect example of how we continue to focus on our mission to “Make IT Simple.”
