The Operations Director of Godalming-based IT solutions consultancy ramsac, Dan May has become the new president of the Surrey Chambers of Commerce. May took over from the outgoing President of three years, Chaz Brooks, at the Surrey Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting which was recently held at Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands.
Having been the Vice President for the last two years and supporting a number of significant changes to modernise and streamline the organisation, May is excited to be assuming the lead role: “I am delighted to take over the reins from Chaz, who has done a superb job over the last three years. The Surrey economy, like the rest of the country and indeed internationally, is going through challenging times - so the Chamber has a more important role than ever to play in creating and promoting success. Over the next two years we are looking to maintain and grow the Chamber’s position as the voice for the business community of Surrey, which is the prime location for businesses outside the capital. To aid this we will continue to provide helpful and relevant support and growth opportunities to our members. The Chamber is also looking to further increase membership, to ensure that the diverse range of commerce that resides within Surrey is fully represented.”
As well as being active within the Surrey Chambers of Commerce for a number of years, May has a key role as Operations Director at IT solutions consultancy ramsac – a role that sees him manage operational leadership, covering the likes of human resources and quality assurance to overseeing the delivery of the company’s award-winning IT services to a broad range of clients. The company was recently garnered by the Toast of Surrey Awards 2011, which recognises ramsac’s commitment and standing within the local business community and the wider community as a whole. The company has also demonstrated its business acumen with an outstanding 20% increase in turnover, along with 28 new outsourcing contracts, announced in its 2010/2011 financial year results.
