At ramsac we understand the importance of keeping our employees happy and fulfilled in their roles. Happy employees, give great service and create happy customers. To provide our employees with training opportunities has always been of great importance to us, these have often been technical and role based training. To provide more general business/leadership training, Rob May, managing director of ramsac created the ramsac business school, a 12-month programme offering all staff business-focused training. The school covers various aspects of business leadership and strategy, but more than that it focuses on understanding human behaviour and its practical application in business and leadership.
As the ramsac business school enters its second year, a few of the first year’s graduates share their experience of the school and the impact it has had on their life.
“From the outset it wasn’t clear what was going to be involved and in total honesty I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out, however, to be a journey of self-discovery both professionally and personally….The knowledge acquired through the business school is instantly applicable and really does have a positive impact both at work and home.”
Holly Royce, Support Consultant
“The course material was fantastic and appealed to all styles of learning. I am very grateful for the time Rob took to prepare each of these sessions for us and the contagious energy and enthusiasm he projected into every module as well as the unwavering support that Rob offered us all throughout the year. I would recommend the Business School to everyone at ramsac and that they take the course as it will certainly change their perspective and if they are lucky, make a significant change in their life”.
James Lyttle, Operations Manager
“The things I’ve learnt aren’t just related to business, in fact I’ve been able to transfer all of it into my personal life which has made be become a better husband, father and friend! Without fail, I would 100% recommend the business school to everyone at ramsac!”
James Neville-Towle, Relationship Director
“This course was an unexpected experience of joy and growth. I think this could easily be named Enlightenment School, helmed at the mast by a Jedi wise in the secrets of Business. The course resonates on a number of levels. From the everyday business, working relationships and Leadership Skills to the internal soul, life reflections, family and the purpose of your life”.
Louise Rooney, Operations Assistant
“Through the ramsac business school journey I feel that our shared experience has brought the ramsac family closer together and created a buzz round the office. Overall the ramsac business school has been enlightening, thought provoking, challenging and taken me out of my comfort zone on many occasions, and I would recommend anyone to take it.”
Matt Shepherd, Network Consultant
“Throughout my career I have never come across an individual like Rob, who is just a pool of knowledge, always learning and very passionate about everything! I feel very privileged to be part of the Ramsac business school where I have learned many things socially, spiritually and professionally”
Parista Rai, Support Consultant
This is just a handful of the comments given by the first graduates all the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive with words like self-discovery, empower, inspire, unique, motivate and positivity coming up over and over again.
Rob explains what inspired him to create the business school
“I am a great believer in lifelong learning. There is so much wisdom, insight and inspiration in this world and we each are party to but a small amount of it.
For nearly twenty years I have attended some form of training course every month, I voraciously consume books and I take discernible stimulus from TED talks. This journey has enabled me to continue to grow and to better understand myself, my world and the people around me.
I’ve always been gratified that ramsac excels in staff training (it’s one of the reasons we attract the very best industry candidates and why we retain them). Finding high quality technical training is easy you just need to value your staff enough to invest in it. Finding training that is fully rounded in life and leadership is another matter altogether.
My vision for the ramsac business school was to take the participants on a journey of self-discovery that would profoundly change both their working lives and their personal lives. I have been very fortunate in my life and have been taught by some truly brilliant people, their inspiration and challenging has shaped me and I wanted to share the tools, thoughts and ideas that I’ve learnt on my journey with my ramsac family. The ramsac business school is the result of that quest. It is evident from the feedback of the first year that the participants loved being a part of this every bit as much as I did leading it.”
As the second year graduates begin their journey to self-discovery, here at ramsac we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to any member of the team who would like to participate. Are you interested in a career at ramsac?
