Celebrating receiving our Carbon Neutral certificate for another year

Here at ramsac we are thrilled to have once again achieved Carbon neutral status, sustainability, eco-friendly and carbon neutral are words which are often banded about without full understanding of their true impact. With global warming rapidly on the rise, wildfires and flash flooding all over our news feeds, it is important that we take our carbon footprint seriously and start making some simple changes to lower our emissions and plastic consumption. The UK Government has pledged to slash emissions by 78% by 2035, aiming to reach carbon zero status by 2050. All around the country you can see more and more renewable energy sources popping up, wind farms and solar farms being particularly prominent. But businesses big and small, and us an individuals all need to step up and do our part, whether that be through recycling, limiting our use of cars, shopping locally, being more vigilant about the ingredients and sources of ingredients in the products we buy or by planting more wildlife, perhaps even your own veggie patch!
As a medium sized business ramsac is invested in being more carbon friendly and helping to achieve the global goal of carbon zero. We look to use sustainable products and constantly review our suppliers to work, where possible, with those who share our values. Working with the support of Carbon Neutral Britain, each year we aim to make improvements to reduce our carbon footprint. They also assist us to calculate our emissions and make up for any shortfalls by investing in large scale projects to help offset the CO2e (Carbon Dioxide & Greenhouse Gases) produced from everyday activities such as food production and vehicle emissions.
‘We are really proud to be certified as Carbon Neutral for another year. It’s a small step in the right direction, but real climate change will only happen by lots of people making small steps – we all need to do whatever we can to reverse the current trends on climate change. Reducing our carbon footprint, and offsetting what we do use, it’s an important part of our wider ESG policy. It’s important for us to help reassure our clients that as their IT supplier, we’re doing what we can to work as responsibly as possible’– Dan May, Commercial Director
